Kristal Alley founded Alley Global Advantage in 2009. Prior to setting out on her own, Kristal was the Permanent Representative to the European Union for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Brussels, Belgium. She also served as a Special Advisor for the U.S. Chamber’s International Division.
During her time with the U.S. Chamber, Kristal advised the U.S. Chamber on transatlantic policy issues, built lasting relationships with EU institutions and counterpart business organizations around Europe, and worked closely with affiliated American Chambers of Commerce operating in Europe. She spearheaded the U.S. Chamber’s European IPR campaign helping bolster the importance of IPR to increased innovation and the knowledge economy.
She also launched and managed the Eurasia Business Platform (EBP) initiative which provided the U.S. government and other relevant institutions with the strategic business outlook of U.S. Chamber members focused on Central Asia, the Caucasus and Turkey.
While living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kristal served as the Executive Director of the American-Malaysian Chamber of Commerce. There she managed all aspects of AmCham Malaysia’s operations, counselled American companies, and advised the AmCham Board of Governors on strategic issues affecting public image and future direction of the Chamber.
Kristal began her career in Washington, D.C. She was the Government Affairs Associate for the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association where she formulated policy positions, and created and coordinated overall public affairs strategies particularly regarding U.S.-Japan trade negotiations. Kristal also served as an International Trade Analyst for the U.S. Department of Commerce-International Trade Administration. Kristal investigated some of the USDOC’s most complex and politically sensitive countervailing duty cases. She received the Bronze Medal Award for Superior Federal Service.
